Ashes is a test series which is played between Australia and England. There have been 71 series played yet. Australia had won 33 and England had won 32 series. 6 series remain drawn. Now Australia currently holds The Ashes title after winning the 2017-18 Ashes series. If the series remain drawn then the trophy retains by the team that currently holds that series. Currently, the trophy has retain by team Australia because they win the last series means the 2017-18 series. Australia’s first test win on England soil was in 1882. The Ashes word first came into existence after Australia’s win in England in 1882. The exception stated that England Cricket had died and the body of England Cricket had been cremated and the ashes of that body will be taken to Australia. Because of this exception, The Ashes word first came into existence. From then, The Ashes has been played every two years between Australia and England. The Ashes series traditionally of five tests hosted every two years sometimes in England and Sometimes in Australia. The Ashes 2019 is being played in England.

There is a special rule that a team must have to win a series to gain the right of holding Ashes. Ashes series are generally of five matches. But there are some series also which are only for 4 matches and also some series which have 6 matches in a series. The 4 matches series were played in 1938 and 1975 only but the 6 matches series were played in 1970-71, 1974-75, 1978-79, 1981, 1985, 1989, 1993, and 1997. Australians have taken 10 wickets in a match by 41 times and on the other side, Englishmen have taken 10 wickets in a match by 38 times. Most wickets in Ashes series were taken by Australian Player Shane Warne (195) and most runs in Ashes Series were made by English Player Sir Donald Bradman (5028).

First Test:
